Technology Evolves, So Expertise and Experience Matters
Subeesh Thampi, Development Team lead on His Career in Website Development.

I started my journey with computers during the Y2k era, and even when I was pursuing my computer studies the speculations were there that the digital world itself is going to collapse and computers may stop working and pursuing a career in that field would be a foolish decision, but few of my teachers and seniors assured me that this is how actually technical world works, issues and obstacles will be there all the time, sometimes it might become critical but eventually it will be resolved by technology itself with the help of experienced experts. Whenever I am stuck with issues in projects I always remember that advice which I got at the start of my career and always work with that perception which always works well too.
Actually during my starting days, I was not interested in the internet and things though the e-commerce industry was in its initial boom, instead I was more into multimedia and graphics that’s why I opted animation (3d, 2d) as one of my main subjects but a campus selection changed those things and finally ended up my focus to internet and website things, of course initially was on website animations and graphics followed by developing web pages.
During that time the web technology was also evolving, inplace of static web pages with minimal graphical elements replaced with complex animations and dynamic content. User generated content was dominating on the word wide web pages and the term Web 2.0 became popular as a single word for these technology changes. Search engines were modified and became a major part of the internet, blogging emerged as one of the online alternatives as a publishing platform and ‘Social Media’ tools started its journey, smartphones and 3rd generation mobile communication techniques changed the way users interacted with webpages. It's really wonderful to see after a couple of decades mobile devices are the primary ones a web developer/designer should consider when they work on a web project.
Right now we are living in the ‘AI’ era where machine made intelligence is controlling how a user interacts with the web pages, search engines and social media handles provide information even without asking, they assume our priorities and needs from our search words. So it is important to choose experienced experts when you are going for an online representation for any product or service.
The current web technologies have not only changed the way websites/pages are developed and designed but it has changed how they are reached by users too. Users are channelized with online tools/applications of various kinds based on their interests, age, location and even with their devices and I foresee these things becoming more prevalent in future. For example you can see a latest Hootsuite
blog post
says Facebook is the favorite social platform of users between 35-44 age group and Instagram is favorite for ages under 25.
So nowadays when you are looking to establish an online presence for your business or service you have to hire not just a web development team but a full fledged online solution team who are well aware of all aspects of the current internet technologies.
