Great question! Share Buttons, and other opportunities for your blog’s readers to re-post your content are a great idea. They will have their greatest impact when the following conditions are present:

• You have visitors to your content
• Your content meets the qualities necessary for it to be worthy of sharing

Some strategies that may be valuable to your content being shared include:

• Encourage your visitors to use the sharing opportunities. A respectful “Please share this content if you found it valuable” can be effective.
• Utilize the sharing opportunities your self. Share your content across your social media and other broadcast networks.
• Make it easy to re-use your content. On some of the blog/content sites that we have developed we include a button that when click provides the correctly formatted citation for the content. If you are writing as an expert, encouraging your visitor to formally cite you content may help establish your credibility.
