Get Social
It is time to get your social media marketing hat on and working this summer! During the summer, there is an average increase of 26% in users on social media. This means you have 26% more people you could convert to your audience and teach about your brand!
Summer Holidays
Summer is full of federal, state and national holidays. For example, the US largely enjoys celebrating Independence Day. Other national holidays that occur during the summer are National Hot Dog Day, National Waterpark Day, National Refreshment Day, Sandcastle Day and more. Stay in touch with these national holidays and put out fun content to match. This will engage your audience and show that behind the brand are humans who care.
Go Mobile
If you have been hemming and hawing about getting a mobile app or making your website accessible on a mobile device, stop stalling. This is crucial! People are on the go during the summer, and looking at websites and social media on their phones and tablets. The only way to stay on top is to implement these systems.

5 Cyber Security Tips for Summer Travel
It is nice to get out of the office and take a break. Summertime is full of beautiful weather, wonderful sites, and BBQs. It is also a great time to get together with friends and family. LEaving the office is a necessity on occasion. This means when we work on the go we need to continue to keep cyber security in mind. If you need to take your work with you to enjoy some summer travel, you're not alone. Just follow these 5 tips to help you stay ahead of a potential cyber security nightmare.
-
Lock your device when you leave it unattended. Whether you are at a restaurant, a family party, or at home it is important to lock your device if you plan to leave it unattended. Although we do not want to think the worst of anyone, it is better to be safe than sorry. If someone sees the wrong file or confidential information it can spell disaster later on. - Backup your data now and later. It is important to backup your data before you leave for your summer vacation and then again when you come back. This provides you with clean information before leaving, and then a set of after/during vacation info. This way, if there is a problem or breath with the travel data, everything will not be lost. It is a great safety net.
- Use a mirror or privacy screen. When we use public transportation we get close to one another. If you are working on your phone or tablet while in transit, and a stranger sits next to you, they can see all of your data. This could cause an information breach. To prevent this, invest in a privacy screen to black out the screen at certain angles to prevent peeping eyes.
- Turn off location services. This type of information is constantly being fed to applications and hackers if they are able to get onto your phone or laptop. This means they know you are away from your business, which could leave it vulnerable to attack. Before leaving, change any location settings so that they are off. Turn them back on if you need to when you get back.
- Lock them up! Do not leave unused devices unattended in a hotel. Use the built in safe, or bring a lock for your luggage and store the devices inside the luggage. The luggage should be locked upon leaving. This prevents unauthorized access to the devices and prevents data leaks.
By using these five tips, you will be able to travel safely and securely. You will no longer have to worry about a cyber attack oir theft of important business property or information. Summer is prime time to hit targets for data because thieves and hackers know their victims travel. Keep an eye out and play it smart.
